The story behind this photograph…

I used to live on a cul-de-sac. At the end of the street was a lot too small to build on, so the neighbors walked dogs there. Pearlie Mae and Maggie Juju, my two loving mutts, of blessed memory, very obedient, loved trotting together around the crest atop a steep hillside. Once in a great while, they would trek down the hillside to the neighborhood below to visit, but I was always with them, calling them home. They would bounce up the hillside through the weeds, running to their mommy. Pearlie Mae was usually the instigator when visiting the neighbors or their dogs. Both Pearlie and Maggie were very social animals.

Together they were best friends. Everyone could tell they loved each other. Pearlie and Maggie ate together, slept together and, on this walk, it looked as though there were gabbing with each other. I had to take the photograph.

Every picture tells a story, don’t it...
